hi all,
I am sorry to say that this will be my last post. I am bringing this blog to an end. As you well know I am not the best at keeping it up to date anyway. Thank you all for all your prayers during my time in the hospital and recovery from my aneurysm. Your continued prayers would be well appreciated. I had an angiogram last week and as far as we know all looks well. They say it takes a good year before truly getting back to the way things were. After nine months I am well on my way but am still affected by everything that happened, probably always will be.

Thanks again for the gift of friendship and support during this time. I’m sure many of us will still be in touch.

snow day

Well, not much gonig on. I spent Thanksgiving with some friends. We had a great time visiting and playing games. I am still working at the school part time. Today school was closed due to our one inch of snow. Kind of funy after living in Canada and North Dakota. I remeber when growing up, if we woke up and couldnt see the top of the grass, we know we could go back to bed.

first week in the books

I just finished my first week on the job. It has been fun. I’m learning how to play wall ball again:) Spelling still keeps me on my toes. I have had to think pretty quick a few times so that the kids don’t figure out that I don’t know so me of the words they need help on. I tell them to sound it out and that usually gives me enough time to find a dictionary:) Today, Miss. Schmidt, who is one of Austin’s teachers that I have been working the most with, asked me about a word that she was not sure about. She said spelling was not her forte. We may be in a lot of trouble. I can think of another musical term that describes spelling for me. Maybe you know what it is. It means slow.

Today I had my first day at work. I really enjoyed it. It is the first non ministry job that I have had that I really think I will enjoy. For now I am only part time as the boy I am working with (Austin) is only at school for half days. It may turn into full days soon. Today I spent time with him and some of the other kids in class learning fractions and reading stories. I also get to go out to the playground with Austin but today, as many of you know it is raining alot even for us. The KFC I ate at was leaking right on top of the cashier.

One thing we did today that was kind of interesting for me was DOL. I remember this from when I was in school. But don’t ask me what it stands for. The teacher writes a sentence on the board with all these mistakes. The student’s job is to find the mistakes and write the correct sentence on their paper. I was the worst at this as a kid. I found out today that I am still not that great:) My brain tends to make corrections without telling me. A lot of the time It will make sense but still be wrong. So when one of the kids asked me if his was right I took a quick look and said it looks good to me.

ok, now its oficial

Great news. I got a job yesterday. I will be working in the Puyallup school district at Pope Elementary. My job will be to work with a fourth grade boy who need some extra assistance throughout the day. I am looking forwarded to starting on Thursday. This will make for a good short term job while I continue to look for ministry positions. The job will be about three months but could lead to other opportunities. Please keep praying as this is not by any means my ultimate goal. But It is something that I can see myself enjoying for the time being.

Hello all,

It has been quite the week for me. I have been sick all week with some kind of something. Let’s just say it hasn’t been pretty. I did get a job this week! I will be a para sub in the Puyallup school distinct. This means that I will be on call to take the place of a Para teacher who is unable to work. Basically I will be subbing for teacher’s assistance. This is a job that really excites me while I am still looking for ministry positions.

Sorry, I know it has been a while since my last post. I actually tried to post something a couple of weeks ago but the computer was acting all funny.

So…let’s see, I have been looking for worship pastor positions. So far nothing has really come out of it. I guess my lack of posts show a lack of exciting events. But I did go to my first Michael W. Smith concert last week. I have always enjoyed his music and finally got to see him live. Other then that, I have been applying to non teaching jobs at some of the school districts around here. These would be assistant type jobs that don’t require teaching certificates. I’m also keeping semi busy volunteering at church.

I have an angiogram coming up sometime late November/early December. I'll try to keep those of you still checking this more up to date.
